Monument record TR 13 NE 78 - Horn Street Mill (Site of), Folkestone

Summary

Mill on Horn Street, Cheriton, Folkestone George Paine operated a seed crushing mill on Horn Street in 1829. It was operated in partnership as Paine & Quare by 1845. The mill subsequently became a corn and paper mill (by 1872) and a corn mill only by 1900. The mill was demolished in the 1960s. Only a single millstone remains, beside cottages by the mill site.
