Full Description
A water powered mill using linseed imported from Archangel, Russia, was operating on the banks of the Medway in Maidstone after 1782.(1) This mill may have been situated at the point where the River Len meets the Medway rather than on the river itself. A series of water mills have been situated at that point, two operating in the 19th century.(2) The NGR is an approximate location for such a site.
