Monument record TQ 76 NW 825 - Clinkham Lime works, Halling

Summary

A lime and chalk works located near Halling. Charles Formby was making lime at Halling prior to 1862 but in 1912 his Clinkham works was taken over by Albert Batchelor & Co. This was then in turn acquired by the Rugby Portland Cement Company in 1936. It was at this time that a new works was built beside the existing kilns and this remains today.
