Monument record TQ 76 NE 368 - Beehive Cement Works, Frindsbury
Summary
The Beehive Cement Works was established in Frindsbury in 1880 just south of the Crown Cement works. In 1897 the Beehive Cement Works merged with the Beaver Cement Company Works, probably as a result of the latter company's acquistion by the Gillingham Portland Cement Company. This works closed in 1907 but the buildings remained in use as part of the combined Crown & Quarry works under APCM though the 1930s. The whole site eventually closed in 1963 and has since been developed.
