Full Description
JC Gostling & Co established a works next to the Phoenix works in Frindsbury c1880. The works were later named the Globe Portland Cement and Whiting works.(1) It was taken over by JB White in 1895 and by APCM in 1900 who closed it a year later.(2) Most of the buildings were demolished after closure, but a small structure on the waterfront may have continued in use by the combined Crown & Quarry works operated by Blue Circle until 1963.(3)
