Full Description
House (site of) On the waterfont was Howard House a redbrick Queen Anne house, so named after Jeremiah Howard, a lime merchant, at the end of the 18th century, but built about 1717 by Frances Macreth. Just to the east was Howard Square, a small square of late 18th century houses occupied mostly by customs officers and watermen. (1)
