Monument record TQ 76 NW 300 - Site of Borstal court cement works, Borstal

Summary

Borstal Court cement works was established in 1852, taken over by Samuel Booth in 1866. A Chalk pit situated on a hill behind the works was connected by tramway. The site has now been cleared but some structures such as washbacks may survive.
