Full Description
To the west of Langdon Stairs is a low rounded bank, orientated north-south, with a dogleg at southern end 3-4m wide and 0.25-0.3m high to 0.5m at its' maximum. It runs along the crest of a small hillock. The aerial photographs show slight bank at right angles at the north end. It bears no relationship to military features, nor to any maps pre-dating the 20th century. It is a possible prehistoric boundary, part of a field system, truncated at north end by the Cliff road and at the southern end by the cliff face. (1)
