Full Description
These are two buildings which are all that remains of the convict and prison complex. Built probably for the Military Prison and completed by 1902. They are referred to as the 'Skidding Sheds' because they were used to store the skidding equipment for 'gun bucking' of 'the principle for moving ordnance'. The holdfast for the gun is still in situ on level 2 of the prison site. Between 1925 and 1939 they were used as stores, NAFFI and a badminton court. (1).
