Full Description
[TQ617 736] Core, blades and flakes, scrapers and other implements on the Ebbsfleet. Upper and lower floors excavated by Burchell (1). Additional reference (2). The uppermost of the two floors was again recorded in 1960. When examined over a wide area than was possible by Major Burchell in 1938 this floor was found to contain a small proportion of microliths, a large collection of flint waste of markedly microlithic aspects, leaf-shaped arrowheads and fragments of course pottery, nearly all undecorated. It is in fact another Neolithic industry related to that at site 1 (see TQ 67 SW 39). Associated with this industry are the bones of a number of animals including oxen provisionally identified as Bos Primigenius (3).
