Service trenches cut in the area of Last Lane during the extensive road works associated with the A20 road and sewer scheme, revealed fragmentary remains of post medieval features including walls, culverts and floors. Traces of the foundations of the nineteenth century Zion Chapel which stood on this site until the 1970s. The top of a single brick-lined vault was recorded in the new road bed.
