Summary

Lakeside Court Nursing Home was originally built as West Ashford Union Workhouse in 1835. It later became a hospital shortly after the second world war, and has in recent years been modernised and converted into a nursing home.

Full Description

A brick, largely two-storeyed workhouse built by the West Ashford Union in c.1835. There is a detached infirmary of temporary construction to the nw, possibly added at the turn of the century. Some of the original buildings have been demolished; those remaining have been modernised and converted into a nursing home.(1)
