Full Description

It opened in 1937. Its then modern style construction are now largely concealed by later additions. During the Second World War hutted blocks were built on the site as part of the Emergancy Medical Scheme (EMS). In 1948 the hospital became part of the NHS and continues to function as a general hospital.(1)

The existing building was used as a technical high school for boys from 1937. The building was demolished in 1971
