Full Description
[TQ 617 726] Part of a bronze hackamore (horse's headstall) found in 1981 on one of the earlier surfaces of Watling Street. The fragment consists of an `L'-shaped piece of bronze comprising part of the vertical cheek piece and horizontal side element. The fragment has a maker's stamp which is illegible but was originally of about seven letters of which the fourth seems to have been a retrograde N. [TQ 617 724] Sherd from a Samian cup found in 1983 in a large pit containing second century pottery. On the underside is a graffito, not certainly complete. (1)
