Full Description

The western part of the site produced a scatter of worked flints, coinciding broadly with a scatter recovered during a surface collection survey. Several pieces were of characteristic early Bronze Age form. No definite archaeological features were identified in this area, although a series of irregular linear soilmarks may be field boundaries of indeterminate date, and a single possible pit was identified(1).

(See TQ 85 NW 122 and TQ 85 NW 123)

Post excavation assessment from December 2000. (3)

A total of 141 struck flints, all of which were residual and probably relate to the probable Bronze Age settlement found at the nearby M20 services. A small gully and two small pits could be Bronze Age in date due to concentrations of flints and pottery in these features, though they could just be residual deposits in late Iron Age / Roman features.
