[TQ 7945 3626] A flint implement, showing Upper Palaeolithic tradition in working and assignable to the Mesolithic, was found in his garden by Mr R Moxham, Goldford cottage, Goldford, near Cranbrook (Nat. 51 5@ 49", Long O 33' 48"). It was presented to Maidstone Museum. (1) Mr Moxham has now moved to the Broadstairs district. Mr Ashenden, present owner of the cottage, currently called `Weavers' knew of the find but could give no further information. The garden is small and centred at TQ 7951 3628 not TQ 7945 3626. On exhibition at Maidstone Museum. (2) The curved flint blade from Cranbrook is a local imitation of the Pressingny daggers, and is datable to the Early Bronze Age. (3) Additional reference, listing the find as Mesolithic, in a gazetteer of Mesolithic sites in southern England. (4)
