Monument record TQ 73 NE 5 - Mesolithic flint scatter and Neolithic leaf shaped arrowhead, Golford

Summary

A Mesolithic flint scatter was found in September 1969 on the surface of a ploughed field. The artefacts were taken to Maidstone Museum where their antiquity was confirmed. The assemblage included a base core, four scrapers, and several baldes or flakes. A large Neolithic leaf-shaped arrowhead was found in the same field the following year. The artefacts are thought to still be held by Maidstone Museum.
