Full Description

Trial trenching identified three principal periods of activity at this site; late Bronze Age, Romano-British and Post-Medieval periods.

THe Post-Medieval activity comprised two shallow ditches which are likely to have been former field boundaries and several post holes. Large areas of the site were devoid of archaeological features and produced no finds, probably reflecting their location in or towards the valley bottom and their use as pasture at various times(1).
