Full Description
In all, the remains of 39 articulated skeletons were disturbed, all buried according to Christian traditions, mostly in coffins aligned east to west, and with no accompanying artefacts. Many of the skeletons had been partially removed by the use of the area for ongoing burial. This is particularly true of the areas closest to the church, implying that such sites were especially valued. Apart form the occasional pieces of coffin furniture recovered, there were no datable finds so the period of use of the area and the date of the burials is impossible to determine(1).
