Summary

Quaker Cottages on Windmill Lane, Cranbrook were originally constructed in the 17th century. They were built as a three-bay range, made of timber, two storeys high with a chimney at one end of the middle bay between two unequal rooms. There are now two cottages as the orignal structure was extended in the 18th century.

Full Description

TQ 776367. Quaker Cottages, Windmill Lane, Cranbrook. Two cottages, of timber, two storeys. Built in 17th century as three-bay range with chimney at one end of middle bay between two unequal rooms; roof with upper collar to every pair of rafters and in addition lower collars carrying clasped purlins, to principal rafters; partly refacedin brick and extended at rear in 18th century.
