Full Description

A copper alloy jetton of date c.1540 and French origin found during a controlled metal detector survey at Wrotham Water Farm, Kent (13th & 14th September 2000). One face displays a triangle representing the castle of Tournai and looped bars representing the castle of Tournois (surrounded by a legend), whilst the other shows a cross pattee also surrounded by a legend. Both inscriptions are worn although overall preservation is good. Diameter: 26mm. Weight: 7.33g. (1)
