Full Description
Silver coin of William III displaying figurative and heraldic decoration, found during a controlled metal detector survey at Wrotham Water Farm, Wrotham Water Lane, Wrotham, Kent (13th & 14th September 2000). One face displays the bust (1st bust) of William III and the inscription "GEIVLMV[S III DEI] GRA," whilst the reverse depicts a rose surrounded by the coats of arms of England, Scotland, France, and Ireland, and the inscription "1696 MAG BR FRA ET HIB REX." The coin is worn and bent although overall preservation is good. Diameter: 21mm. Weight: 2.66g. (1)
