Full Description
Copper alloy coin (circular disk/Gallic point) attributed to the Sequani in the French Jura (C1st BC). Found during a controlled metal detector survey at Wrotham Water Farm, Wrotham Water Lane, Wrotham, Kent (13th & 14th September 2000), the coin is worn but stable. Not matching any known examples from the British Museum Catalogue, one side of the coin displays a schematic bust, whilst the reverse shows a horned horse with an s-shaped tail (pellet before and below the horse). Diameter: 18mm. Weight: 4.92g. (1)
