Summary

A hoard of bronze palstaves was found near Goudhurst in Kent in the mid 19th century. They are thought to have no loops at their sides. Three were presented to the British Museum and some were said to be in a remarkable condition. The precise location of their discovery is uncertain.

Full Description

"Several bronze palstaves, found near Goudhurst, Kent, three of them presented to the British Museum by Mr. S. Stringer. Eight were discovered piled up in regular order, and they are in remarkably perfect preservation. They have no loops at the side". Exhibited at the Archaeological Institute in March 1855 by Mr Franks. (1)
