Full Description
During wastewater works a wall representing part of a water cistern recorded on 17th and 18th documents which was fed by an aqueduct kown as the Town Ditch. The cistern walls were made up of greensand lumps with a mortar bonding and faced with a thin mortar rendering. The floor was of a single layer of red brick. The stucture is believed to be square or rectangular in plan and went out of use by the mid 19th century.(1)
