[TQ 78903348] Moat Farm [TI] (1). The Moat [TI] (2) [TQ 78893351] Moat [TI] (1) (1-2) The Moat, Benenden, is a 15th c timber framed building with plaster infilling. (3) "The Moat" is a typical example of a Kentish yeoman's house, but is of no particular architectural interest. The homestead moat, formerly extant W and N of the house, was drained about 10 years ago and remodelled into ornamental gardens, losing all trace of its former character. Elsewhere no trace of the moat is now visible. Published survey (25" 19?) revised. (4)
