Monument record TQ 73 SE 2 - The Moat, near Crit Hall, Benenden

Summary

The Moat is the site of a 15th century moated house. The building is timber framed and seen as a typical example of a Kentish Yeoman's house, but is of no particular architectural interest. The homestead moat has now been drained and remodelled into ornamental gardens. Little trace of it is now thought to be apparent at the site.
