Monument record TQ 73 SE 3 - Site of a Romano-British Bloomery, near Spring Wood, Benenden
Summary
The site of a Romano-British bloomery is suspected due to the discovery of a concentration of bloomery slag of apparently Romano-British type. This was found near Spring Wood at the edge of Cindery Field. In the bank of a nearby steam black earth, tile fragments (possibly Romano-British in date) and slag was identified.
