Monument record TR 15 NW 652 - Roman Street in Canterbury
Summary
During trench evaluation at St Mildred's Tannery, on the site of former allotment gardens, a Roman street metaslling was found at the eastern end of the trench. The street ran northwards towards Watling Street and had a marked gradiament down towards the east, probably intended to drain into a sewer, or, possibly the nearby Great Stour. The street had been patched and had a raised lip on the western side.
