Full Description

South west of a group of six chest tombs (TQ 54 NE 50) and partly under a yew tree.

Inscriptions are illegible.

Description: Single step plinth supporting moulded base to chest. Side and end panels have ovals for inscriptions with rays of light radiating out with tooled margin. Corners have classical balusters with base and capitals and fluted columns. Top slab thin with moulded edge supported on brick cross wall core. Tomb 950mm above plinth and chest 750 x 1720mm.

Defects: In imminent danger of total collapse. End panels missing. Balusters moving due to rusting cramp. Plinth disintergrating. Side panels moving out. North side panel broken.

Recommendations: Urgent dismantling.(1)
