Underground monitoring post built to monitor nuclear bomb explosions and the drift of fallout. Built in 1960 on a hilltop it was closed in 1991. A fallen telegraph pole marks the site together with foundations that might be the shaft. Excavation to a depth of 2ft revealed rubble in fill.

Underground monitoring post built to monitor nuclear bomb explosions and the drift of fallout. Built in 1960 it was closed in 1991. A fallen telegraph pole marks the site together with foundations that might be the shaft. Excavation to a depth of 2ft revealed rubble in fill.(1)

The site of a Royal Observer Corps monitoring post. The site was located on Crow Hill at Borough Green. The majority of these sites were built between 1956 and 1964, although their construction began after 1925 and continued into the early 1970s. At the time of the Defence of Britain survey (1995-2002) this site was found to have been destroyed. (2)
