Monument record TR 34 SW 661 - Roman Aqueduct (B47) supplying water to the CLBR fort II, Dover

Summary

During excavations associated with works on the York Street bypass in 1971, in an area just to the north of that occupied by the Roman fort of the Classis Britannica, an aqueduct was uncovered and recorded. This aqueduct relates to the complex series of drains, culverts, waterpipes and sewers which have been uncovered within the walls of the fort. (location accurate to the nearest 2m based on available information).
