Full Description

Watching brief at Pound Lane Car Park, Canterbury in 1994 during construction of new houses uncovered evidence for a possible Medieval timber-framed building comprising:

Flint and mortar walls and associated and associated floor levels.

The walls suggest dwarf-walls for a timber-framed building and this with the peg-tile fragments located beneath the floor layers would indicate a construction date between c.1200-1700 AD. (1)
