Full Description
19th - 20th century chalk pit workings. Listed on the MPP as of regional/national importance (although of lesser priority).(1)
Massive 19th and 20th century chalkpit, the whole site now covered in dense woodland. Internally the pit is stepped to form several levels. There are ruins of some buildings, including a possible works office. There is an axial tramway, and the railway linking the pit with the Medway survives at the eastern end. (2)
