Summary

A rapid salvage excavation took place in April 1978 at 16-21 North Lane, Canterbury. In addition to the discovery of a Roman kiln, a small number of medieval burials were recorded, interpreted as a possible plague cemetery. The burials have later been reinterpreted as probable Roman burials.
