Full Description
During evaluation work the remains of a metalled road or track were found aligned south-west to north-east showing signs of wear indicative of use by wheeled traffic. The surface was well defined and composed of fragmented flint. The date of construction has not been determined, but a find of a single peg tile from the surface indicate that it was certainly in use after around 1500. It is possibly the old course of the Canterbury Road.(1)
