Monument record TR 35 NW 250 - Possible Medieval Metalled Road

Summary

Two metalled surfaces possibly representing successive roads on the same alignment. The lower surface being an earlier road, was re-metalled to form the second metalled surface. The alignment of the road seems to be north-east to south-west, therefore it could have been the linking road between Stonar and Sandwich. The possiblity of the surface being a courtyard or similar is unlikely as there is little evidence of intensive occupation nearby. There were several pottery finds.
