Monument record TQ 76 NW 347 - Possible Chalk Quarry, 24 Star Road, Rochester
Summary
North trench chalk bedrock with truncations forming possible terracing in rear garden of 24 Star Hill, Rochester. This could be the result of quarry, a further terrace appears to exist in the garden of 22 Star Hill. Immediately above the chalk bedrock small brick fragments were found, show that the truncations are relatively recent, but pre-dating the brick air raid shelter (TQ 76 NW 346) in the garden.
