Monument record TR 15 NW 648 - Medieval Cesspit 12 Beer Cart Lane Canterbury

Summary

Rectangular pit possibly lined with wattle connected with medieval building (TR 15 NW 615). A number of pottery sherds and a virtually complete cooking pot were found along with a medieval textile fragment dating to the late 11th to early twelfth century identified as yarn spun in the "Z" direction, a type common for linens from the British Isles.
