Monument record TR 23 NW 256 - Earlier Street Frontage Of Sandgate Road, Folkestone

Summary

A length of walling totalling 14.50m. Made of stone bonded by a coarse gritty creamy white mortar. It is aligned parallel to the modern street frontage of Sandgate Road. Evidence for cellar structures, in the form of a stone and brick vaulted cellar which continues under the present frontage, suggests that this wall was the wall of the structures fronting the streets rather than just being a boundary wall.
