Findspot record TR 15 NE 438 - Mason's Working Debris, The Precinct, Canterbury
Summary
An extensive spread of crushed Caen stone up to 0.10m deep sandwiched between layers containing late 15th to mid 16th century pottery and mid 16th century pottery again sugests that the deposits were probably formed from mason's work debris rather than demolition as there was an absence of mortar. A lease from 1446 indicates that there was a Mason's lodge at the north end of Sacrit's Lane.
