Full Description

[TQ 7758 4235] An enclosure with a much mutilated moat at Brattle a mile south west of Staplehurst Church. (1) A homestead moat at Brattle Farm, of which the N and parts of the E and W arms remain, waterfilled and in good condition. The line of the S arm can be detected in the garden as a broad depression, giving the moat an original extent of 70.0m. N-S by 40.0m transversely. Published Survey revised. (2) Checked and correct.
