Full Description

[TQ 7752 5892]. Roman tiles found in the churchyard of St. Mary and All Saints, Boxley. (1) One Roman tile found about 1949. Now in the Museum. (2) Neither the vicar, Reverend W. Mortimer Lamb, the sexton Mr. Whitehead nor Mr. Gosling, sexton circa 1949 were aware of the discovery of the tile. No further details concerning the circumstances of the discovery have been found. The churchyard has not been used for burials since 1908. (3)
