Full Description

Iron Age coin found at Boxley, near Maidstone. Evans type A.4 uninscribed gold stater. Gaulish (Bellovaci?). (1) Found July, 1847, (c) but no further details are known concerning the circumstances of discovery or the exact provenance. The coin is on display in Maidstone Museum, part of the Pretty Bequest. (No accession number). (2) Additional bibliography. (3)
