Findspot record TQ 54 SE 4 - Neolithic flint axe, Southborough

Summary

A Neolithic polished flint axe was found during work to dig foundations for a new school in 1954. The axe was made of grey flint with a grey and white patina (veneer). It was polished smooth on both its surfaces and retained evidence of the original flaking. The axe was given to maidstone museum where it is thought to remain.
