Summary
Field walking along Thanet Way, to the east of Seasalter Lane produced some Romano-British tile and pottery fragments. No features were found, but the finds probably come from a nearby settlement.

Full Description
In 1991 an assessment in anticipation of Thanet Way being constructed was undertaken and involved both trail trenching and fieldwalking taking place. The machine trenching to the east of Seasalter Lane produced some small abraded pieces of Romano-British tile and 10 pottery sherds.Two of the sherds were 1st century, the others were Medieval mainly 12th century and one sherd of Mayen ware.But no features were found, but the finds may indicate a nearby settlement of Roman and Medieval date.
