Monument record TR 26 NE 240 - Site of a World War II Pillbox, Potten Street, St. Nicholas at Wade
Summary
A World War II pillbox was formerly located near Potten Street. The monument was built for infantry and could house a machine gun facing north west. It was destroyed during improvements to the Thanet Way. During an evaluation at the site in 1991 evidence of a modern ditch was also found; probably a slit trench associated with the pillbox.
