Monument record TR 36 NW 399 - Site of an RAF bombing range, Kent International Business Park, Monkton and Acol parishes

Summary

A quantity of small arms cartridges and cannon shells were recovered during an archaeological investigation prior to construction of Kent International Business Park near Manston. As well as these smaller finds a "twelve pounder" bomb was recovered and identified by an RAF bomb disposal team. The discovery of these artefacts led to the identification of the site as a bombing range in use during the 1930's.
