Full Description
In 1998 an evaluation was carried out by the Trust for Thanet Archaeology of the proposed site for a new ASDA supermarket. Medieval features were found. (1)
In 1999 the Trust for Thanet Archaeology and Canterbury Archaeological Trust carried out a strip, map and sample project on the site. Remains of a medieval windmill, consisting of cross-tree foundations and a surrounding ring ditch, along with enclosures and in total 126 features dating to the medieval period were found. The pottery recovered from these dated to the period c.AD 1050-1375. (2)
