Full Description
A deposit of burnt flint and charcoal was recorded in one trench during evaluation work at Springhead. Its extent, date and thickness are unknown, but it may represent part of a prehistoric? (?neolithic/early bronze age) boiling mound or spread of burnt flint adjacent to the river Ebbsfleet. Neolithic activity has been recorded south of this spot in past excavation work [1 and 2].
