Full Description
During excavations undertaken ahead of works associated with the Channel Tunnel Rail Link at Springhead, near Gravesend, a pair of Shallow gullies were uncovered. These were located towards the northern end of the site, approximately 90 to each other. They may have formed part of an enclosure or field system adjacent to the Ebbsfleet. The dating of theses gullies is provisional, and they have been tentatively assigned a late Bronze Age or early Iron Age date. (1-2) Further excavations at springhead, to the east of these features, revealed evidence of a Bronze Age field system, it is possible that these gullies are associated with this collection of features.
